I want to file an application in person
I am a permanent resident and have not received my Green Card
Most of our forms can only be filed by mail. Check the filing instructions for the form you want to submit to see if you can file it in person. You can also file some applications online.
If you applied for an immigration benefit and did not receive the document you were expecting, you can send us an inquiry using E-request. NOTE: Do not submit an inquiry if your case was just recently approved. Please allow about 60 days to receive your document. You can check the status of your case using the Manage Your Case Tool. If Manage Your Case Tool indicates that the card was mailed, you will be given a U.S. Postal Service tracking number.
If you believe it is taking longer than expected or you did not receive a notice or card or document in the mail, you can create a USCIS online account and use Secure Messaging to directly communicate with us.
USCIS appointments are free. If you know of anyone selling an appointment, call the USCIS Contact Center at (800) 375-5283.
Do not bring to the appointment any scissors, flammable liquids (including aerosol sprays and bottles of perfume), knives, nail clippers, tweezers and other sharp objects.
The offices are small. Only the people who need to attend should come. If you need an interpreter, you should arrange to have an interpreter available by phone. Do not bring an interpreter to your appointment.
Please come 15 minutes early before your time to go through the security checkpoint and check in. Do not come earlier than 15 minutes. If you are late, your appointment will be cancelled and you will have to reschedule.
